May 10, 2008 04:00 am Laurens' boys won five events Friday during the Tri-Valley League Track and Field Relays at Milford _ setting four meet and school records along the way _ but Stamford ran away with the team title by scoring 88 points. Russ Weidler, Joel Tirado and Pat Bullock contributed to meet and school records in the 4x100-meter relay (47.1 seconds), the 4x200 (1:37.3) and the sprint medley (3:51.2) for the Leopards, teaming with Nate Francisco in the first two and Tom Benner in the last. Benner also anchored the winning 4x1,600 team, which set meet and school records at 21:07.8. Andrew Parsons, Anthony Marmet and Jordan Kane ran the first three legs, respectively, for Laurens, which also won the 4x800 in 9:09.9. Laurens finished second in the nine-team meet with 66 points. Steven O'Bryan, Cal Galleazzi, Axel Roura and Justin Harmon won the 4x400 for Stamford, which finished in a meet-, school- and track-record time of 3:36.1. Laurens' girls contributed three school records, winning the 4x100 in 54.4, the 4x200 in 1:58.3 and the sprint medley in 4:48.2. Shannon Mish, Stacy Tacher, Alyson Marmet and Sarah Bilz won the 4x100 and the 4x200. The foursome's time in the 4x100 also stands as a meet and track record. Mish, Bilz and Tacher joined Catherine Benner on the winning sprint medley squad for the Leopards, who placed second with 64 points. Milford won the girls crown with 66 points despite winning one event as Krista Krol, Chandler Prouty, Natasha Roseboom and Brenna Campbell gave the Wildcats a victory in the 4x400 (4:42.9).
