May 13, 2008 04:00 am Jordan Price went 2-for-4, including a home run and four RBIs, as host Unatego clinched the Midstate Athletic Conference Division I baseball title with a 10-4 victory over Sidney on Monday. It marks the sixth straight season Unatego (14-5, 10-0) has won or shared the Division I title. Last year, the Spartans tied for the division with Sidney but lost in a Division I tiebreaker, 14-7. "They are excited about the chance to go undefeated in the division," Unatego coach Frank Microni said. "Sidney and Unatego is a good rivalry. The kids are friends, but on the field, it's big game. Being able to beat them twice is exciting for them. Mix that with the division title, it was a good day for Unatego baseball." Winning pitcher Kyle Palmer had a two-run home run in the first inning for the Spartans. He also struck out 11, walked two and hit a batter in six innings. Mike Simonds had two hits and two RBIs for Unatego, which visits Chenango Valley on Friday. "We came out and hit the ball well," Microni said. "Kyle threw the ball well. For the most part he kept them off-balance and our defense played well. "We've improved every week," he continued. "I'm very proud of how these guys have come together and worked. ... Probably the reason we've come so far is because of the kids' work ethic. I have a couple assistant coaches who work hard with them and as a unit, we're tight as a group." Aaron Wood went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Warriors, who received two hits from Markus Delello.
