Edmeston softball rallies past Patriots, 15-14

Brittanie Becraft and Susanna Johnson had RBI singles during a three-run fifth inning that gave Edmeston the lead for good in its 15-14 Tri-Valley League softball victory at Cherry Valley-Springfield on Thursday.

The Panthers trailed, 13-12, heading into the fifth. Michelle Natali's RBI double in the fifth pulled CV-S to 15-14.

Winning pitcher Megan Lawrence and counterpart Marnieta Nelson retired the side in order in the sixth and seventh innings. Lawrence, who had 11 strikeouts, seven walks and hit four batters, struck out the side in the seventh.

Jennifer Norton went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs for the Panthers. Johnson and Ashley Harbison each contributed three hits.

Savannah Crowley and Ashley Jacoby had two hits apiece for the Patriots (6-10), who host Cooperstown on Saturday.

Oneonta 17, Delhi 2

Sienna Wisse and Chloe Muller each went 3-for-4, and Michelle Seeger and Lesley Harlem combined on a two-hitter in Oneonta's non-league home win.

Wisse's RBI double in the second inning drove in Katie Bredin to give the Jackets a 4-1 lead.

Harlem, who no-hit Norwich in a 15-0 victory Wednesday, relieved Seeger in the fourth and allowed one hit over three innings. She struck out eight and walked three.

OHS (4-11) is at Seton Catholic Central on Tuesday.

Ashlea Osborne, Katie Bakhuizen and Calli Hill contributed two hits apiece for the Raiders.

Jessica Terrano had two hits for Franklin (3-8, 1-6), which hosts Morris today.

Amber Gantner and Jessica Bentley combined on a two-hitter for Schenevus, which cruised to a Tri-Valley League road victory.

Holli Oberacker had a two-run single during Schenevus' 11-run second inning and teammate Maura Harrington had a two-run single in the third. The Dragons benefitted from 16 walks and five hit batsmen.

Karli Pochkar had Worcester's hits.

The Wolverines (0-12, 0-9) host a doubleheader against Cherry Valley-Springfield on Monday.

Unadilla Valley's Mike Schowe shot a season-low 40 to lead the Storm to a 218-241 non-league victory over Edmeston.

Mike Burchill contributed a 41 for UV, which ended its season at 5-8.

The Panthers' Justin Kucera shot a season-low 42, about 10 strokes lower than his average score this season.

Edmeston (3-9) hosts Mount Markham today.
