July 18, 2008 04:00 am Oneonta Post 259 sent 17 batters to the plate during a 12-run third inning that carried the Green Wave to a 14-4 Legion baseball victory Thursday at Walton. Jon Wolfanger hit a two-run homer to left field and an RBI single during the third, when Ryan Lynch contributed two singles. His second drove in two runs as Oneonta took a 12-0 lead. Wolfanger, who has three homers this summer, finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Lynch went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Mark Nader contributed two hits. Nate Eastman (1-1) allowed no runs on two hits over four scoreless innings. He walked four and struck out two. Mike Maloney led of Walton's sixth with a home run to center. Otsego County champion Oneonta (28-13-1) will play in the Elmira Baseball Umpires Tournament this weekend at the Corning Babe Ruth Complex. The Green Wave open at 6 p.m. today against Trumansburg. The following weekend, Oneonta will begin play in the District 6 Tournament in Binghamton.
