at Oneonta CC

Joe Saftic shot a 4-over 40 on the front nine of the Oneonta Country Club on Wednesday, but Oneonta High dropped its season opener to Southern Tier Athletic Conference rival Maine-Endwell, 212-219.

The Spartans' Reid VanWoert shot the low round at 39. Oneonta's Isaiah Fleming tied M-E's Justin Marca at 42, and the Jackets' Alex Paolicelli matched Ryan Jones at 43. M-E's final two scorers shot 44 apiece, compared to a pair of 47s from Oneonta's last two.

Oneonta visits Susquehanna Valley at 2:30 p.m. today at the Conklin Players Club.
