Senior Chelsea Haight moved to the top of Davenport's girls soccer goal-scoring list Monday.
The last of Haight's three goals, with 18 minutes, 31 seconds left, gave her 110 goals _ one more than former Davenport standout Jennifer (Wright) Henderson _ and capped the Wildcats' 4-1 Delaware League victory at Gilboa.
"We really don't talk a lot about personal records," 28th-year Davenport coach Ray Preston said. "Chelsea is the kind of kid who would say she couldn't do it without teammates. She's so unselfish. As many times I think she should be shooting, she's not. It's something over the years that has come.
"I don't think she felt pressure," he continued. "I am proud of her and glad for her. (Haight and Henderson) are similar. Both are determined and great competitors. That's why both have been very successful."
The record-breaking goal came when Jackie Gilley sent a throughball from the right side as Haight cut over from the left-middle. Haight beat a defender to the ball and shot to the lower-right corner to make it 4-1.
"You don't want to go 1-on-1 with Chelsea from there," Preston said. "Once she got the ball, it was all over."
The five-year varsity player has 13 goals through eight games this season. Last season, en route to earning a second straight appearance as a first-team Daily Star All-Star and second-team recognition on the Class D all-state team, Haight scored 39 goals. As a sophomore, she scored 28 goals and had 13 and 17, respectively, in her freshman and eighth-grade seasons.
Henderson played for Davenport in the early 1990s and also used to coach the Wildcats' boys program.
Haight scored to give Davenport the lead for good at 2-1 with 6:34 left in the first half.
Rebecca Hotaling contributed a goal and Gilley had two assists for Davenport (8-0, 4-0).
Laura Potter scored for Gilboa (5-3, 2-1), which hosts Schenevus on Wednesday.

South Kortright coach Bob VanValkenburgh said sweeper Dan Many, center back Kyle Hotaling and outside defenders Lance Hanselman and Keith McGrath have played well together this season.
"The defense has been steady," VanValkenburgh said. "(Charlie) Darling in the goal has been good. ... Even though we're not scoring a lot of goals, we've been able to keep pressure on the teams. We don't have that one outstanding scorer, but it's the possession in the game."
