October 09, 2008 04:00 am Victories by East Division champion Cherry Valley-Springfield and West Division winner Edmeston on Wednesday set up a matchup of unbeaten Tri-Valley League girls soccer teams Friday at CV-S. The visiting Patriots (13-0, 10-0) defeated Schenevus, 3-1, on Wednesday behind goals from Morgan VanAlstine, Courtney VanBrink and Ksenia Hanlon. The Panthers (16-0, 11-0) received two goals from junior Kori Hamm in a 3-0 defeat of host Laurens. Friday's game will serve as a preview of the Tri-Valley League final Oct. 18 at the National Soccer Hall of Fame. CV-S 3, Schenevus 1 The Dragons took a 1-0 lead when Jessica Bentley scored off a rebound with 26 minutes, 21 seconds left in the first half. VanBrink tied it a minute later, and VanAlstine scored the go-ahead goal with 29:30 left off a rebound from close range. Schenevus (6-7-2) hosts Worcester on Saturday.
