Seniors Jason Boltus and Jack Phelan hooked up four times for touchdowns as Hartwick College defeated visiting Becker, 49-12, in a non-league football game Saturday.
Quarterback Boltus threw 361 yards and five TDs. All four of Phelan's catches resulted in touchdowns, including two in the opening quarter. That's when the Hawks took a 14-0 lead en route to their third straight victory and 11th in a row at home.
Phelan's first TD came on a 49-yarder to open the scoring. The second, from 15 yards, capped a 99-yard drive. Hartwick took a 27-6 lead when Boltus hit Phelan on a 14-yard scoring pass early in the third quarter. Ryan Boyea followed with one of his seven extra points to make it a 22-point spread.
Nate Rockefeller (Delhi) and Tosh DeMulder (Unatego) had 78 and 70 rushing yards, respectively, leading a Hartwick ground game that finished with 199 yards.
Rockefeller's 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave the Hawks the 42-14 lead.
Dan Contrastano and Ben Tomaino (Oneonta High) had 10 tackles apiece for Hartwick (4-1), which travels to Mount Ida for a 1 p.m. non-conference game this Saturday.

Philipp Schoeniger's overtime goal gave visiting Hobart a non-league road victory Saturday.
Schoeniger scored just inside the left post in the 94th minute for the Statesmen (13-0-2), who are ranked sixth among NCAA Division III teams.
The Red Dragons (9-5-1) tied the score at 1 in the 49th minute, when Matt Lindermann headed in a corner kick from Matt Brown.

Anis Makaren had two goals to lead unranked SUNY Delhi to a Mountain Valley Conference victory over the NJCAA's fifth-ranked Division III team on the road Saturday.
Makaren converted a pass from German Nielson with 5:50 left in the first half to give the Broncos a 2-0 lead.
The Broncos (13-2-1), who also received a goal and an assist from Alex Campbell, finished conference play at 6-1-1. They trailed only MVC winner Herkimer, which went 7-1.
Next for Delhi is the NJCAA Division III Region III Tournament. Coach Geoff Moore said the seedings will be released Wednesday.

Alyse DiCenzo converted a penalty pick with 26:20 left in the first half and Brelynn Nasytany scored the first of her two goals nine minutes later to lead host William Smith to a non-league victory Sunday.
William Smith, the sixth-ranked NCAA D-III team in the country, held a 12-7 advantage in shots.
"We're definitely struggling to finish," Red Dragons coach Liz McGrail said. "I think that's the last piece for us and we have a couple more games before playoffs to work on that. Plus, when we break down defensively, we completely break down."

Hartwick loses, ties
Hartwick fell to visiting Union, 2-0, on Sunday, a day after playing host Keuka to a 1-1 tie.
Union's Allison Cuozzo scored 13 minutes into the second half Sunday to break a scoreless tie. Cuozzo's 25-yard shot went over Hartwick keeper Ashley Taylor.
Bianca Germain capped the scoring with 40 seconds left for Union, which held a 20-3 advantage in shots.
On Saturday, Alesha Wright scored 6:28 into the second half to give Hartwick a 1-0 lead.
Shana Johnson tied it for Keuka with four minutes left in regulation. The Hawks, who outshot Keuka, 20-10, are 4-9-2.

Oneonta State dropped its first three matches in the SUNY Athletic Conference Round-Robin Tournament at Plattsburgh before beating the host school, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-14, in its final match.
The Red Dragons (15-18) did not qualify for the league championships.
Megan Boeltz and Denise Hardy had 15 and 13 kills, respectively, for the Red Dragons in their victory over Plattsburgh, the second of two matches they played Saturday. Caitlin Ross contributed nine kills, Jess Ptasnick had 24 assists and Jess Zerega had 23 digs.
Earlier Saturday, New Paltz earned a 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 win over O-State.
Ptasnick had 31 assists and eight digs, and Ross contributed eight kills and nine digs. Christine LaGuardia had nine kills and 15 digs, and Boeltz had six kills and six blocks.
On Friday, O-State lost to Potsdam, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22. LaGuardia had six kills and 11 digs; Ross had six kills and four digs; and Boeltz had seven kills.
In a 25-14, 25-15, 20-25, 26-24 loss to Cortland, LaGuardia led the Red Dragons with 13 kills and 14 digs. Sarah Petrignani and Hardy had eight and seven kills, respectively, and Ptasnick had 32 assists.
The Red Dragons are at Ithaca on Tuesday.
Cobleskill goes 1-1
SUNY Cobleskill bounced back from a 25-15, 25-16, 25-11 loss to host D'Youville College with a 26-24, 25-17, 24-26, 23-25, 16-14 victory over Penn State-Berks on Saturday in North Eastern Athletic Conference matches.
Kristen Kukan had eight assists, three kills and three digs, and Natasha Mamrosh had five kills and three digs against D'Youville.
Against Penn State-Berks, Kukan had 36 assists, 13 digs, three kills and three aces to lead the Fighting Tigers. Mamrosh and Danielle Skene had 14 and 13 kills, respectively, and Adrianna Lyons (Cooperstown) had five kills, three digs and two aces.
Hawks goes 2-2
Hartwick College split two five-set matches Saturday, the latter in the consolation match of the Hartwick/Holiday Inn Tournament.
The Hawks (11-19) lost their first match, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-11, to St. Lawrence. They came back to beat Utica, 21-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-15, 17-15, in the consolation match.
St. Lawrence swept Lycoming in the final.
Hartwick went 1-1 Friday. The Hawks defeated Utica College, 25-19, 25-10, 28-26, before losing to Lycoming, 27-25, 14-25, 25-22, 25-18.
Hartwick's Courtney Desmond and Kerry Sisson earned all-tournament honors.
Corning Tournament
SUNY Delhi finished 2-1 Saturday at the Corning Community College Tournament. The Broncos fell, 25-19, 25-22, to Corning before beating Jefferson (25-16, 25-17) and Tompkins-Cortland (25-21, 25-18).
Izumi Takahashi amassed 50 assists for Delhi, which received 19 digs and 14 kills from Minori Sato. Devin Donaldson (21 digs, 14 kills), Renee Ladlee (12 kills) and Hillary Sanca (24 digs) had four aces apiece for the Broncos (6-14), who host Word of Life in a 6 p.m. Senior Night match Tuesday.

Hartwick Relays
Hartwick's men and women swam to victory in the Hartwick Relays on Saturday. The men finished first out of five teams with 160 points _ 62 better than runner-up University of Rochester. The women's 134-point total was 26 ahead of second-place Rochester.
Steve VanDuzer, Chris French, Kevin Milkovich, Tomie Schoening and Eric Goble were part of four winning relays for Hartwick. Michael Phillips and Kaird Durocher each swam on three winning teams.
Hartwick freshman Stephanie Ha swam in four winning races to lead Hartwick's women. Senior Casey Whittaker took part in three winning events.
Hartwick hosts Cazenovia and SUNY Cobleskill this Saturday.

Albany Invitational
Chris Mason's sixth-place finish over the 5-mile course at the University of Albany set a SUNY Delhi school record at the Albany Invitational on Saturday.
Mason, a sophomore, finished in 25:17, beating the previous record of 25:32 set by Al Rizzo in 1977.
"He ran a phenomenal race," Delhi men's cross country coach Bob Backus said. "He's really developed nicely as a sophomore. That's a record that will probably be around for a while."
The Broncos finished 14th in the 22-team championship race with 363 points. Oneonta State placed 13th with 315. Marist won the title with 23.
There were also purple and gold races, but neither of those divisions had team scoring.
Chris Burke finished 33rd overall for Delhi in 25:54, a record time over 5 miles for a Broncos' freshman.
Oneonta State's Nick Pampena placed 21st in 25:40, followed by teammate Marty Nicholson (25:56) in 36th. Oneonta High graduate Tim Greenberg was 92nd in 26:47.
Delhi is at the Mountain Valley Conference Championships on Saturday at Proctor Park in Utica.
O-State is at the SUNYAC Championships on Nov. 1 at Letchworth State Park.

Four SUNY Cobleskill men crossed in identical course-record times Saturday, and Meghan LaPoint also set a course record as the Fighting Tigers swept the three-team Green Mountain Invitational.
Andrew Gelston, Kevin Wipple, Dan Bulson and Kane Seamon (Richfield Springs) finished the 8,000-meter course in 27 minutes, 57.2 seconds for Cobleskill's men, who beat incomplete teams from Green Mountain and Johnson State College.
LaPoint finished the 5,000-meter women's course in 20:27.1 Cobleskill won with 26 points, three better than the hosts. Johnson State was incomplete.

Tim Sattler led the Hawks' men, finishing in 30:03.6 over 8 kilometers. Justin Pedersen (Gilbertsville-Mount Upton) was next for Hartwick at 30:43.3.
On the women's side, Kim Negrich completed the 6,000-meter course in 25:21.9 for the Hawks. Gabby Dello (G-MU) crossed in 25:52.2 for Hartwick, which competes in the Empire 8 Conference Championships on Saturday in Saratoga Springs.
