Chris Burke finished first Saturday to lead SUNY Delhi to a cross country sweep in the NJCAA Region III Championships at the Delhi College Golf Course.
Burke covered the 5-mile course in 28 minutes, 48 seconds for the Broncos' men, who cruised to their eighth straight title with 19 points. Alfred placed second in the eight-team event with 55 points.
Jason Phillips finished second (29:05) and Delhi teammate Lyle Haywood placed third (29:08).
Delhi's women also won the team title with 41 points, three ahead of Mohawk Valley. Nicole Darling paced the Broncos' women, who won their fifth regional crown and first since 2004, with a third in 21:25 over a 5-kilometer course.
Walton and SUNY Delhi graduate Justin Wood, who coaches both teams for the Broncos, earned Region III's women's coach of the year.
Delhi will compete in the NJCAA Championships at 10 a.m. this Saturday at Finger Lakes Community College.

NEAC Championships
SUNY Cobleskill men's and women's coach Mitch Tomaszkiewicz swept coach of the year honors from the North Eastern Athletic Conference after leading his Fighting Tigers to a sweep in the conference championships Saturday at SUNYIT.
Kane Seamon (Richfield Springs) won men's runner of the year after placing first on the 8-kilometer course in 27:40. Brian Kelly (third, 28:20), Kevin Wippel (fourth, 29:05.6) and Jon Hill (fifth, 29:07.7) also helped Cobleskill to 20 team points, 60 ahead of second-place SUNYIT, for its second straight conference crown.
Meghan LaPoint (third, 20:41.6) and Christine Tylee (fifth, 21:51.9) paced Cobleskill's women to 56 points for the team title.
The Fighting Tigers will compete next in the ECAC Division III Championships on Saturday at Williams College.

SUNYAC Championships
Nick Pampena placed 21st (26:45) and Oneonta High graduate Nick Madison finished 27th (27:02) to help Oneonta State's men to a fourth-place finish in the SUNY Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Cortland. Oneonta, which improved two spots from last season, had 129 points in the 10-team event. Geneseo won with 29 points.
O-State's women placed fifth with 135 points, 101 behind winner Geneseo. Lauren Brunetto (20, 24:44) and Celia Alterio (25, 24:55) paced the Red Dragons' women.

Erika Gates (33, 20:27.34) led Hartwick's women to a sixth-place finish in the Empire 8 Conference Championships on Saturday in an event that doubled as the Saratoga Invitational. Gabby Dello (Mount Upton) contributed a 39th (20:52.36) and earned Hartwick's Sportswoman of the Year honor in cross country.
John Stuligross paced the Hawks' men to seventh. He was 39th in 29:00.29. Justin Pedersen (Gilbertsville), who placed 61st (30:48.12), won Hartwick's Sportsman of the Year.
Hartwick competes next in the NCAA Division III regional qualifier Nov. 14 at Letchworth State Park.
