H-T girls rally to triumph

Staff Report

Devin Friedman's 14-point night included an 8-for-11 showing at the free-throw line, leading Hunter-Tannersville to a 40-30 Delaware League girls basketball victory at Gilboa on Thursday.

H-T outscored Gilboa, 18-5, from the foul line. Jessica Caputo had 15 points to lead Gilboa, which played several minutes of the fourth quarter without starting point guard Jenna Danouski, who split her lip open at the end of the third quarter.

"We had the lead when (Danouski) went out and they had it when she came back," said Gilboa coach David Hotzler, whose team was outscored, 17-5, over the final eight minutes.

Gilboa (1-2, 0-2) is at Downsville a week from today.
