Kaitlin Hansen made 14 saves and Melanie Rooney scored midway through the first half, leading host Worcester to a 1-0 Tri-Valley League girls soccer victory over Schenevus on Wednesday.
Worcester coach Jim Kenyon said Hansen's best save came in the second half on a rebound from close range when she crouched down to snare a lined shot.
But Worcester's best save may have come from Kenyon's daughter Briana with two minutes left. Schenevus lined up for a direct kick from 20 yards after a Worcester player was called for a handball.
A Schenevus player took a shot and Kenyon headed it off the line.
"She was part of the wall and saw nobody was back, so she ran back there," Kenyon said of Briana's play.
Megan Werkheiser set up Worcester's goal, dribbling down the left side before crossing to Rooney, who scored into the right-hand corner with 24:49 left in the first half.
