Cobleskill sweeps

Cobleskill swept a NEAC doubleheader at home Sunday, beating Wells College, 6-3 and 1-0, to secure a spot in the conference tournament.

The Fighting Tigers (18-16, 12-8) finished third in the NEAC North Division and will play a tournament game Friday at Penn State Berks. Final seedings and game times will be released today.

Madeline DeMilio doubled and scored on a two-base error to tie it at 3. Mattea Bagley, who took second on the error, then scored the go-ahead run on a single by Melissa Spears.

Erin Wadsworth followed with her first home run of the season to make it 5-3. Wadsworth also scored the final run in the sixth. She singled, stole second and scored on a throwing error after a bunt-single by Michaela Schuyler.

Brianne Gray held the Express scoreless over the final six innings. She struck out one and walked one.

In the second game, Cobleskill scored in the first inning. Bagley reached on an error with two outs, stole second and moved to third on a throwing error. Wadsworth followed with an RBI single.

Wadsworth struck out seven, walked three and allowed no hits in five innings. Gray followed with two innings of scoreless relief, striking out one and walking none for her first save.
