Afton 10, Deposit 1

Cassidy Phillips struck out nine and walked two in a five-hitter as host Afton thumped two-time defending Section Four Class D champion Deposit in the MAC.

Afton extended its lead to 6-0 by scoring five times off Justina Ellis with two out in the fourth inning. Sam Rogalski hit a two-run triple in the fourth en route to a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs.

Ashley Rogalski (three RBIs) and Phillips had two hits apiece for the Crimson Knights (12-1, 9-0), who received two RBIs from Payton Cutting.

Afton hosts Bainbridge-Guilford on Friday in its regular-season finale.

Unatego 9, UV 4

Torri Halaquist finished with three hits and Cassidy Newman had two for Unatego, which won a MAC game on the road.

The Spartans had eight of their 12 hits in the first inning, when they jumped to an 8-0 lead. Keannna Speenburgh homered for Unatego, which held a 9-1 lead after two innings.

Jennifer Elliott and Megan Gould each had two hits for Unadilla Valley, which received three runs from Jordan Anderson.
