OHS track sweeps East titles

The girls doubles final will pit Margaretville’s Rhiannon Kearns and Lindsay Day against Stamford’s Stephanie Tanzola and Julia Adams. Kearns and Day won, 7-5, 6-1, over Hunter-Tannersville’s Hannah Podsiadlik and Emily Farrell in one semifinal. Tanzola and Adams earned a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 win over Windham’s Katie Pelham and Oksana Korostil.

The times and sites for all four finals have not been announced.

Cooperstown 4, Sidney 1

Sidney’s Nick Meno earned a 7-5, 6-1 win over Jimmy Anania at first singles, but visiting Cooperstown won everything else in a non-league victory.

Jason and Will Cadwalader won in straight sets at second and third singles for Cooperstown.

The Warriors (6-7, 6-2) will host Walton today. Seniors Alex Morrow, Geoff Peck and Jerrid Cubby will be recognized before the match.

LACROSSECV 10, Oneonta 6

Luke Anderson scored three goals and Jeremy Leary contributed a goal and two assists as Oneonta High lost to Chenango Valley at Lloyd F. Baker Field.

Joe Sherrill had 21 saves for the Yellowjackets (0-12), who’ll travel to Elmira Notre Dame at 5 p.m. Thursday.

GOLFat Red Pines

Brenon Maynard shot a 41 as Unadilla Valley defeated Oxford, 220-291 in a Midstate Athletic Conference match.

Collin Izard and Jarad Hanslmaier contributed 43s for the Storm, who will play Cooperstown at Leatherstocking on Thursday.

at Delhi College GC

Joe Burgin shot a 4-over-par 40 on the back nine of the Delhi College Golf Course, leading host Delhi to a 210-238 victory over Walton.

All five Delhi scorers shot 44 or better as Connor Gioffe had a 41, followed by a 42 from Ben Arehart, a 43 from Brandon Simonds and a 44 from Justin Simonds.

Robbie Phraner’s 43 paced the Warriors, who received a 44 from Eric Zimmerman.

at Leatherstocking GC

Teddy Trosset shot a 41 to earn a share of medalist honors, but host Cooperstown fell, 177-187, to Ilion on the par-35 front nine of the Leatherstocking Golf Course.

Matt Frevele contributed a 43 for Cooperstown.

Ben Stone and Michael Bergin each had 41s to pace Ilion.
