Local lifter wins national title
Oneonta resident Dillon Maier placed first in his weight class during the 31st annual USAPL Masters National Powerlifting Championships, which ran May 3-5 in Orlando, Fla.
Maier, 78, won the 130-pound weight class in the 75-79 age-group to qualify for the World’s Masters Powerlift meet back in Orlando on Sept. 21.
Maier squatted 230 pounds, bench pressed 105 pounds and had a dead lift of 265 pounds for the title.
OCC offering $19.13 foursomes
The Oneonta Country Club will offer a special rate to the public June 1 as part of its 100-year anniversary celebration.
The first 30 foursomes that reserve a tee time between 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for June 1 will pay a total of $19.13. The rate, which reflects the year the course opened (1913), includes greens fees, cart, hot dog and soda for each member of the foursome.

The OCC’s 100-year anniversary weekend will run June 14-16.
Hall to display World Series trophy
The San Francisco Giants’ 2012 World Series trophy will be on exhibit at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown from June 22-23.
The trophy will be on display in the Hall’s Library Atrium from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Access to the trophy is included with museum admission.

Girls basketball camp July 21-24
The Oneonta State women’s basketball team will host a developmental overnight/commuter camp for girls ages 10-18 from July 21-24.
Team members will serve as counselor’s for the camp, which is designed to develop fundamentals.
Daily activities include 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 instruction, fundamental stations, and games.
Cost is $295 for residents (overnight) and $255 for commuters. A $35 non-refundable deposit is required with the application. Those who submit applications and full payments by June 3 will receive a $10 discount. Group discounts are also available.
