Carey also set a school record in the high jump at 6-foot-1 and won Section Four Class D titles in the long and triple jumps in 2003. He went on to play soccer for SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Cortland.
Hendricks is Unatego’s all-time leading scorer in boys basketball with 1,714 points, which ranks sixth all-time in Section Four. He earned Daily Star Player of the Year honors as a senior, when he led the Spartans to a Section Four championship appearance. Hendricks went on to play basketball at Hartwick, helping the team to an NCAA Division III semifinal appearance in 1988.
Hendricks also played football and baseball for Unatego, with a career batting average of .429 in the latter. He hit .478 as a junior in 1984, leading the Spartans to the Susquenango Association title.
Sleezer played soccer, basketball and softball for G-MU from 1998-2002. She finished with a basketball program-record of 1,397 varsity points and also had 140 three-pointers and 300 steals.
A second-team all-state pick in basketball, Sleezer also earned first-team all-state honors in soccer and led the Raiders to Tri-Valley League championships in both sports. Sleezer later played basketball and soccer at Green Mountain College and Hartwick.
Gerard Mirabito, a 1979 Sidney graduate, earned basketball state championship MVP honors after the Warriors capped a 25-0 season with a state title. He averaged 19 points during the 1978-79 season en route to second-team all-state honors.
Gerard Mirabito, who also played baseball at Sidney, later helped Potsdam State to the NCAA Division III basketball championship in 1981. His post-college career included heading the Oneonta State men’s basketball team and assistant-coaching stints at Potsdam and at a St. John’s program that reached the Final Four in 1985.
Richard Mirabito received first-team Susquenango Association accolades in football, basketball and baseball for Sidney, where he graduated from in 1976. He helped the Warriors to Sus, Section Four Class A and Class A regional championships during the 1974-75 basketball season, when Sidney went 20-2.
