Wick LB to play in Classic

Staff Report

Hartwick College senior linebacker Bryan Schweitzer will compete for the North team in the D3 Senior Classic football game at 7 tonight in Salem, Va.

Division III players will represent the North and the South in the fifth All-Star game, which will be played at Salem Stadium. The stadium also serves as the host site for the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, which is the NCAA Division III Championship game.

Schweitzer received an honorable mention from the Empire 8 Conference last month. He finished the season with 78 tackles (52 solo, 26 assists), 13 tackles for losses, 5.5 sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Schweitzer led the Hawks in tackles for the third straight season. He also scored touchdowns on a 9-yard fumble return against Buffalo State and a 19-yard interception return against Frostburg State.

Schweitzer finished with 316 total tackles all-time, which ranks second in Hartwick history to Jim Hoysradt’s 368 from 1993-1996. Schweitzer also forced a team-record eight fumbles all-time.
