Postseason awards continue to pile in for Oneonta State senior women’s soccer player Karly DeSimone.
Already named the SUNY Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America First Team all-region choice, DeSimone was recently selected as the ECAC Division III Upstate New York Offensive Player of the Year.
DeSimone helped the Red Dragons to a 13-5-3 record that included a SUNYAC title and a first-round victory in the NCAA Division III tournament.
Two other O-State players – junior Krystal Scott and senior Amanda Regensburger – were named to the ECAC Upstate New York First and Second teams, respectively.
DeSimone, a four-time all-conference selection, scored 29 points this past season to lead the SUNYAC. She finished with 11 goals and seven assists. Five of her goals decided games.
Over four seasons, she started 80 of 82 games, scoring 22 goals and assisting 13 others.
Scott, the ECAC’s Upstate Rookie of the Year last fall, is making her second straight appearance on the First Team. The Red Dragons’ sweeper, Scott started 19 games and finished with one assist.
Regensburger, a midfielder who earned First Team all-SUNYAC honors, had three goals and three assists. This marks her first appearance on the ECAC all-star team. Overall, she had five goals and nine assists for the Red Dragons.
