Beers joins 2,000-point club

Taylor Firmalino had 11 points and grabbed team-best 14 rebounds, to go along with five blocks to lead host Hunter-Tannersville to a Delaware League win.

The Wildcats received scoring from five players as they opened on a 9-2 run.

Sam Dibbell, Taylor Thompson, Megan Powers, Emma Wilson, and Firmalino all contributed points in the first quarter. Dibbell also had 11 points.

‘‘Jefferson couldn’t match our intensity,’’ H-T Ryan Funck said.

Hunter-Tannersville (5-2, 4-2) travels to Margaretville on Jan 6.

Shiann Bellinger scored a team-high five points for Jefferson.

UV 59, Walton 14

Taylor Davis scored a game-high 18 points to lead host Unadilla Valley to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory.

Davis had 14 points, including three threes, in the first quarter as the Storm outscored the Warriors, 20-0.

‘‘We shot very well tonight,’’ UV coach Brandi Backus said. ‘‘It was a total team effort.’’

Unadilla Valley (3-0, 2-0) will visit Deposit today.

Morgan Beardslee contributed a team-best five points for Walton.
