Mitchell Barra scored his varsity-high of 28 points and grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds to lead Laurens to a 71-48 boys basketball win over Jefferson in the first round of the Lee Fisher Tournament on Thursday at Davenport.
Jared Conklin contributed 10 of his 17 points, including two threes, in the first quarter, and Barra had 18 points in the first half as the Leopards opened a 40-27 lead.
Laurens (4-1, 3-1) will face Davenport in the championship game at 6:30 p.m. today.
“We know we have a battle on our hands,’’ Laurens coach Andy Carr said.
Michael Greiner scored a team-high 15 points for Jefferson, which will play Worcester in the consolation game at 5 p.m. Today.

Corey Hartman had four of his seven points in the second quarter as the Wildcats used a 11-0 scoring run to take a 19-8 advantage heading into halftime.
‘‘It was kind of a lackluster game tonight,’’ Davenport coach Lee Fisher said.
Davenport (6-0) will face Laurens in the championship game at 6:30 p.m. today.
Devin Adams contributed a team-high eight points for Worcester, who will play Jefferson in the consolation game at 5 p.m. today.

Skyler Taylor’s 510 series included a 187 game as Cooperstown’s boys defeated Herkimer, 5-0, in a Center State Conference meet.
Herkimer’s girls downed Cooperstown, 4-1. Paige Hewitt had a 377 series for Cooperstown.
