Wyatt Crowley hit both ends of a 1-and-1 to give Cherry Valley-Springfield a four-point lead with under 10 seconds left in the Patriots’ 39-35 Tri-Valley League boys basketball victory Wednesday at Franklin.
Ben Drugatz scored five of his team-high 11 points in the fourth quarter as CV-S outscored the Purple Devils, 14-10.
“It was a fun game,” said Franklin coach Darryl Beers, whose son Derek scored all 10 of Franklin’s points in the fourth quarter. Beers finished with a game-high 19 points. “It was tight all the way.”
Crowley finished with nine points and Dustin Collins had eight for the Patriots.
K.C. Jacobson hit three three-pointer for Franklin (2-5, 1-4), which will host Worcester on Friday.
Greene 65, Afton 50
Zach Wentlent, Justin Ekstrom and Brandon Davis scored 18, 17 and 16 points, respectively, to lead visiting Greene in the Midstate Athletic Conference.
Ekstrom scored seven points as the Trojans outscored Afton, 17-6, in the fourth quarter.
Darien Heath’s 20-point night included six three-pointers for the Crimson Knights, who received 15 points from Kyle Hinman.
Afton (5-3) will travel to Sidney tonight.
Morris 45, Schenevus 33
Michael Murphy scored a game-high 16 points, and Aidan Staib finished with 12 points and nine rebounds to lead host Morris in the Tri-Valley League.
Murphy hit two of three three-pointers in the second quarter to help the Mustangs to a 22-13 halftime lead.
Cameron Hill contributed nine points and 10 rebounds for Morris (2-6, 2-3), which will host Richfield Springs on Friday.
Jacob Darling had 12 points to lead Schenevus.
Walton 59, Oxford 35
Colin Adam scored a game-high 17 points to lead host Walton in the Midstate Athletic Conference.
Adam had nine points in the third quarter as the Warriors outscored the Blackhawks, 20-14, to take a 47-30 lead.
‘‘He came out hot after the half,’’ Walton coach David Gardepe said.
Walton (2-5, 1-3) will visit Greene on Friday.
Kevin Davis and Cameron Heggie scored 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Oxford.
at Holiday Lanes
Abigail Loucks rolled games of 248 and 220 en route to a match-high 633 series as Oneonta High defeated Windsor, 5-0, in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference match.
Caryn Balnis contributed a 592 series that included a 215 game to help the Yellowjackets.
Windsor received a team-high game of 214 form Sophia Millard and a 200 game from Samantha Smalley.
SV 49, Oneonta 32
After victories by Dalton Ormsby (138 pounds) and James Longo (145) to start the match, Oneonta received pins from Sam Sherrill (152), Austin Scheer (160) and Kirkland Dolan (170).
But host Susquehanna Valley won seven of the next eight matches en route to a Southern Tier Athletic Conference victory.
