O-State men, women win on road


Delhi (13-3, 5-0) hosts Mohawk Valley at 7 p.m. Tuesday.


Cobleskill 69, Canton 68

Junior forward Tracee Schiebel scored on a putback as time expired, giving SUNY Cobleskill a non-conference victory over visiting Canton (2-8) on Saturday.

Schiebel rebounded a missed free throw by teammate Shelby Preston with 1.5 seconds left, then scored the winner over two Canton defenders.

The Kangaroos’ Zoey Smith forced overtime by hitting a free throw that tied the score at 58 with 8 seconds left in regulation.

Cobleskill (2-8) went on to take a 67-65 lead, but Canton’s Alicia Uhlein hit a three-pointer from the top of the key with 7 seconds to go in the extra period. Preston was fouled on a drive to the basket to set up Schiebel’s winner.

Scheibel led all scorers with 20 points. She also had seven rebounds and six assists. Preston finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Fighting Tigers, who received 13 points, 15 rebounds and six assists from Kaena Davenport.

Breanna Vatter’s 15 points paced Canton, which received 14 points and 10 rebounds from Karyss Terrance.

Cobleskill visits Cazenovia for a North Eastern Athletic Conference game Wednesday.

O-State 60, New Paltz 42

Alyshia Crawford and Cara Adams scored 12 points apiece to lead Oneonta State to a SUNYAC victory at New Paltz (2-9, 0-4) on Saturday. Adams’ season-high 12 points helped the Red Dragons’ bench outscore the Hawks’ reserves, 35-18.

Oneonta’s Lyteshia Price made two free throws to tie the score at 12 at the 8:45 mark of the first half. The Red Dragons (9-2, 3-1), who have won five in a row, scored the next 12 points en route to a 33-14 halftime lead.

O-State visits Cortland on Tuesday.

Hartwick 72, Nazareth 54

Brittney Dumas finished with game-highs of 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead Hartwick to an Empire 8 Conference victory on the road Saturday.

Maria Foglia scored 11 points and Taylor Vonasek had 10 for the Hawks (10-3, 4-0), who led by 26 points after 15 minutes.
