G-MU grad wins snocross event
Gilbertsville-Mount Upton graduate Corin Todd earned a division sweep during rounds 11 and 12 of the Feb. 21-22 AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour in Mt. Pleasant, Mich.
Otego resident Todd, who will turn 21 on March 18, swept his Pro Lite #1 heats en route to 45 points and his third main event victory in as many tour stops. He also earned 30 points in the Pro Lite #2 event.
Todd has amassed 431 points and stands second through 12 rounds. He trails Andrew Carlson of Big Lake, Minn., by 11 points.
CBS Sports Network will broadcast Round 11 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and Round 12 at 10:30 a.m. March 16.
Todd and his Leighton Motorsports team will compete in rounds 13 and 14 today and Saturday at the Buffalo River Race Park, which is just outside of Fargo, N.D. Free live streaming is available online at www.ustream.tv/ISOC.
Oneonta girls take second
Oneonta residents Caitlyn Bhend, Samantha Ficano, Remy Kane and Sevran Kane placed second in the team routine during the Adirondack Synchronized Swimming Invitational hosted by Hartwick College on March 2.
Sevran Kane also placed seventh in the individual figure competition.
The Oneonta Aqua Danse club members competed in the 13-and-over intermediate age-group, along with clubs from Binghamton and Albany.
WCDO to cover quarterfinals
WCDO in Sidney will air three high school basketball state quarterfinals from Onondaga Community College’s SRC Arena on Saturday.
WCDO will cover the Class D girls quarterfinal between Franklin and Hamilton at noon Saturday, followed by the Class D boys quarterfinal between Davenport and New York Mills at 1:45 p.m. The radio station also will carry the 5:30 p.m. Class C girls quarterfinal between Harpursville and Little Falls.
