Hartwick College selected women’s basketball players Maria Foglia and Brittney Dumas as its Hawks of the Week.

Foglia, a senior guard, scored 26 points to help host Hartwick to an 80-77 overtime victory against Baruch in an NCAA Division III tournament first-round game Friday. It marked the Hawks’ first tournament victory since 1991.

Foglia shot 7-for-15 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free throw line. Her two free throws with seconds left in overtime gave Hartwick a three-point lead.

The next day, in an 82-62 second-round loss to 11th-ranked Amherst, Foglia had 13 points and six rebounds. Foglia finished with 1,540 points at Hartwick, a figure that fourth all-time in school history. She’s the program’s all-time leader with 476 made free throws and ranks second in school history with 162 three-pointers.

Dumas, a sophomore, had her college high of 34 points to go along with 15 rebounds in the Hawks’ win over Baruch. She shot 13 of 24 from the field and scored eight straight points in overtime. Dumas scored a game-high 20 points and had 10 rebounds in the loss to Amherst.

Hartwick finished its season at 22-6.
