Jared Suderley is officially a beast in the East.
Hartwick College’s all-time leader for points and rebounds earned a First Team spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ Division III All-District Team, the Hawks announced Tuesday.
Senior forward Suderley, a first-teamer after the 2011-12 season, had college-highs of 20.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game this past season. He amassed 570 points and 300 rebounds, which rank fifth and seventh in program history, respectively.
Overall, Suderley finished with 2,034 points, 920 rebounds, 753 field goals, 430 free throws and 42 double-doubles, which all rank in the top nine on the NCAA Division III active leaders list.
The Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year also earned conference tournament MVP honors after leading the Hawks (18-10) to their second E8 tournament title and an automatic berth to the NCAA D-III Tournament.
Suderley also earned a roster spot on the West squad for the Reese’s Division III College All-Star game, which will be played at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Civic Center in Virginia. The game will take place before the NCAA D-III championship game.
The All-Star teams feature two seniors from each of the eight regions in D-III and two others who were selected by online voting on D3hoops.com.
Brisgewater College’s Bill Leatherman will coach the West against the East, which will be coached by Springfield College’s Charlie Brock.
The game will be broadcast online at NCAA.com.
