Kids play for free at OCC

The Oneonta Country Club will offer free golf to children of members this season.

Introductory individual memberships cost $795 per year. Spouses may be included at a total family cost of $1,295.

The OCC also will offer a summer membership at the Oneonta Tennis Club featuring indoor and outdoor tennis as well as outdoor pool privileges from May 1 to Labor Day. For more information, call the OCC at 607-432-0950 or visit the website oneontacountryclub.org.

Wrestling tourney this Saturday

Oneonta State will host its annual Red Dragon Wrestling Festival at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Chase Gymnasium.

Divisions are based on age (6-and-under through over-19) and weight (40-285 pounds). Wrestlers may compete in two weight classes or two divisions, although two fees will be required to do so.

Cost is $15 to enter. Varsity experience is not required for entrants in the youth through junior divisions (6-and-under through ages 13-14).

Participants may weigh in from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday or from 7:30-8 a.m. Saturday in the wrestling locker room of the Chase PE Building.

Clinics start at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by competition. The top three finishers in each weight class will earn awards, along with the outstanding wrestler in each division.

Laurens fundraiser is Saturday

The Laurens varsity baseball team will host a Zumba Fitness charity event from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at Laurens Central.

Licensed instructors will conduct 2-plus hours of Zumba. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., followed by Zumba at 2:15 p.m.

Cost is $10 at the door. Baseball players will provide daycare at the event, which features gift raffles, theme baskets and refreshments.
