Hartwick (2-5, 0-2) pulled to 5-3 on Vaglica’s goal with 11:06 left in the second quarter. When Brown scored with just under 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Hartwick’s deficit was 7-4.
But Fisher (4-3, 1-1) closed with three straight goal, including one by Jeff Wester that put the Cardinals ahead, 8-4, with 8:42 remaining.
Michael Rourke made 15 saves for the Hawks, who will host Stevens Institute of Technology at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Delhi 7, Monroe 5
SUNY Delhi scored the game’s first five goals and then hung on for a non-conference road victory Saturday.
Ryan Vollmer scored in the first quarter, Pat Schneck and Jake Guy had second-period goals, and Guy and Bryan Kelly scored to start the third quarter.
Kelly’s goal 5:29 left in the quarter gave the Broncos a 5-0 lead.
Monroe’s Brian Moran scored the next four goals. His goal with 13:09 left in the third quarter made it 5-4.
But Delhi’s Kelly scored off an assist from Paul Hyland to give the Broncos a 6-4 lead with 11:34 to go.
Monroe (3-3) again pulled to a goal Sean Biggie scored with 4 1/2 minutes remaining.
Then Schneck all but sealed things on a goal with 1:19 left. James Lennon assisted on the goal.
Delhi (4-2) will host Herkimer at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
WATER POLOLong Beach 10, Hartwick 8
Sami Capparelli scored three goals, but Hartwick College lost a non-conference game to 12th-ranked Long Beach State on Friday at Los Angeles.
The 49ers scored five straight goals to end the first quarter, taking a 5-1 lead.
Capparelli scored twice in the second period, the second bringing the Hawks to 6-4.
But Long Beach (16-8) scored the next three goals, a string that was ended when Katie Ermakova scored her second goal of the game to bring Hartwick to 9-5.
Cayley Tonkin’s goal 19 seconds into the fourth quarter made it 9-6, but the 49ers answered with a goal.
