O-State men rally to beat Brockport in lacrosse


Emily Jweid had two goals and two assists, and Kia Ference finished with two goals for Hartwick (5-2, 1-1), which received 11 saves from Steph Luce.

The Hawks will travel to Nazareth on Saturday.

TRACKRamapo Challenge

Schenevus graduate Patrick Weinert won the hammer throw and Joe Carr contributed to pair of victories to lead Oneonta State on Saturday in the Ramapo College Northeast Challenge.

Weinert’s best throw covered 178 feet, 10 inches. Teammate J.D. Roth placed second at 167-6.

Carr placed first in the 400 meters, crossing in 50.25 seconds. Carr also joined Thomas Wheeler, Jake Alviene and Jonathan Albert on a 400 relay squad that won in 43.73 seconds.

Alviene also placed third in the long jump (19-11).

Cooperstown graduate Jeremiah Ford finished fourth in the 400 hurdles.

O-State’s women were led by Michelle Chartrand, who won the long jump with a distance of 17-1 1/4.

Lauren Bracco and Alexandria Kober contributed second-place finishes for the Red Dragons. Bracco was second in the pole vault (8-0 1/2) and Kober was second in the triple jump (33-5 3/4).

O-State will travel to the travel to the Sam Howell Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Princeton.

GOLFMcDaniel Spring Invitational

James Partridge and Dillon Walsh-MacGregor earned top-10 finishes to help SUNY Delhi place fourth in the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday at the Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pa.

Partridge shot a 77 to finish tied for seventh. Walsh-MacGregor had a 78 to place tied for ninth.

The Broncos also received 81s from Chris Braim and Eric Walling.

Delhi had 317 strokes. St. John Fisher won with 305 – two better than runner-up Rochester. York College was third with 315.

Rochester’s Nick Palladino earned medalist honors with a 73.

The Broncos will compete in the Farmingdale Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Bethpage Red Course.

Peter King Memorial

Travis Deuel shot 13-over-par over 27 holes as SUNY Cobleskill placed 13th out of 14 teams in Dowling College’s Peter King Memorial at the Rock Hill Golf Course in Manorville on Saturday. Poor weather conditions forced the event to be shorted to 27 holes.

Cobleskill will compete in the Utica College Invitational on Sunday at Skenandoa Golf Club.
