Softball registration starts today

The Adult Summer Softball League in Oneonta will hold open registration for the 2014 season from today through April 30.

Men’s and women’s teams wishing to play this summer may attend the final informational meetings for each league at the skatehouse in Neahwa Park. The final women’s meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The final men’s meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday.

Registration costs $600 per team and includes forfeit bond and liability fee. Money should be sent to Louie Barnes, P.O. Box 925, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Softball league to meet today

Dino’s Bar & Grill will host a preseason meeting for the 35-and-over softball league at 7 p.m. today.

All teams in the league should have a manager or representative attend as rules for the upcoming season will be discussed and possibly voted on.

The league, which has an A and a B division, also has openings for new teams or players. Games are played at 6 p.m. Monday-Friday at Dino’s.

Ouleout Creek to meet today

The Ouleout Creek Golf Course in North Franklin will hold an organizational meeting for leagues at 6 p.m. today at the clubhouse.

Youth conditioning program set

The Oneonta Family YMCA will host a sports conditioning program for youths ages 11-14 on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 1.

Registration is required for the program, which runs from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Center Street School gymnasium. The program will not run during breaks for Oneonta High or Oneonta State.

OBGC to host softball clinic

The Oneonta State softball team will hold a skills clinic to start the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club’s spring season from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday.
