Seven youths win local PPK titles
Four Oneonta boys won titles during the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick local qualifier Friday at Ted Christman Field in Oneonta.
Brady Carr (ages 6-7), Cameron Sitts (8-9), Jarod Card (10-11) and Evan Sitts (12-13) won their respective age-groups to advance to sectional competition Oct. 20 at Damaschke Field.
Milford’s Luke Courter won the boys 14-15 division with the best total score, at 323 feet, 11 inches.
Girls winners were Otego’s Jenna Cartelli (6-7) and Kayla Grabo (14-15) of Mount Upton.
Sectional winners will advance to compete at the Buffalo Bills Team Championships on Nov. 3 at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park. The Team Championship will be held before the Bills’ game against the Kansas City Chiefs that day. Participants will be part of an exhibition during the halftime show.

Boys 8-9: Cameron Sitts, Oneonta (50-8, 36-5, 43-7) 130-8.
Boys 10-11: Jarod Card, Oneonta (68-11, 65-9, 58-0) 192-8.
Boys 12-13: Evan Sitts, Oneonta (92-2, 73-4, 72-3) 237-9.
Boys 14-15: Luke Courter, Milford (116-8, 119-0, 88-3) 323-11.
Girls 6-7: Jenna Cartelli, Otego (7-9, 12-5, 3-9) 23-11.
Girls 14-15: Kayla Grabo, Mount Upton (18-11, 31-7, 19-7) 70-1.
Volleyball league starts soon
The Oneonta Family YMCA is accepting registrations for its Fall Co-Ed Volleyball League.
The A League will play Tuesday evenings and the B League will compete Wednesday evenings.
Play for the 10-week league begins the week of Oct. 8.
Instructional meetings will run Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. for the A League and at 7:15 p.m. for the B League.

Clinton Regatta meeting Oct. 1
The General Clinton Canoe Regatta committee will hold a kickoff meeting for the 2014 event at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Highway 7 Bar & Grill in Bainbridge.
The meeting is open to the public and is intended to begin planning for the 2014 Regatta.
