Poor start costs OHS boys in 3-1 loss at Forks

Delhi 7, Oxford 0

Chelsea Cika scored three goals, all assisted by Logan Bruce, to lead Delhi to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory at home.

Casey Steffens opened the scoring seven minutes into play. She shot from 20 yards on the left side.

Melissa Conrad extended the lead two minutes later on a 20-yard shot from the right side of the box. Conrad finished with two goals.

Delhi (5-3, 3-2) will host Unadilla Valley on Friday.

Sidney 3, Greene 1

Katie Kirk scored three goals to lead Sidney to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory on the road. Kirk’s first goal came three minutes into play off a cross from Mackensie Gravelin. Kirk made it 2-0 10 minutes later off another cross from Gravelin.

Greene’s Paige Wilcox cut the lead to 2-1 after beating four defenders and finishing far post at the 24-minute mark.

“She’s extremely fast and can run right by you,” Sidney coach Jody Gravelin said of Wilcox.

Kirk scored her third goal from 12 yards with 20 minutes to go in the first half off a throughball from Jenna McDonald.

Sidney (4-4, 3-1) will host Bainbridge-Guilford on Friday.

RS 3, Sharon Springs 0

Christina Gurley, Rebecca Smith and Tessa Buck scored to lead host Richfield Springs to a non-league victory.
