Five to join OHS Hall of Fame
Oneonta High will induct Bob Turrell (class of 1960), Frank Microni (1987), Garry Scutt (1967), Jessi Potter (2001) and Bill Hughes (1974) into its athletics Hall of Fame during homecoming Oct. 5.
The inductions will occur at noon Oct. 5 in the Charles Belden Auditorium at OHS.
Additionally, Wendell Brown (class of 1979), Kevin J. Molinari (1971), Beatrice Warren Blanding (1912) and Roger Hughes (1929) will join the Yellowjackets’ Wall of Distinction.
Food and music will be provided by the OHS Alumni Association from 1:30-2:30 p.m., just before Oneonta’s football game against Ithaca. The homecoming game starts at 3 p.m. at Lloyd Baker Field.
OHS will announce its Homecoming Court and introduce the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2013 during halftime.
Lunker leads to bass victory
Mike Barse caught the lunker of the day during the Wiggins Tree Service Open Bass Tournament and combined with Vic VanSteenburg for Susquehanna Bass Association victory Sunday on Cross Lake.
Barse’s 20-inch largemouth weighed 5.11 pounds, part of the victorious total as he and VanSteenburg filled the five-fish limit with 14.20 pounds.
Patrick McNeil and Jeff Parker finished second at 10.88 pounds, and Lou Falvo partnered with Dave Hubbard to place third at 10.66. Steve Wilson and Anthony Konchar rounded out the top four at 10.28.
Allan Green caught the big smallmouth, at 17.5-incher weighing 2.53 pounds.

Delhi Pee Wees to play Oct. 6
The Delhi Pee Wee Football Association will host two games Oct. 6 at the Delhi American Legion Field near the pavilion.
The Delhi Jets will host the Sherburne Jr. Marauders at 1 p.m. Oct. 6, followed by the Delaware National Bank Bulldogs against the Sherburne Marauders at 3 p.m.
