Spartans top B-G, 35-20, in football

Josh Feyerabend rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead host Unatego to a 35-20 Section Four Football Conference victory over visiting Bainbridge-Guilford on Friday night.

Feyerabend finished with 70 passing yards and 38 rushing yards for the Spartans, who took a 21-13 lead into halftime.

Tanner Winchester opened the scoring with a 50-yard touchdown run less than two minutes into play. Feyerabend followed with the first of his four extra points, then scored on a 50-yard run of his own with 8:02 left in the opening quarter.

Feyerabend also scored on a 31-yard run and hit Winchester for a 48-yard TD pass in the third quarter for the Spartans (3-1, 2-0), who received a 20-yard TD run from Kellen Komenda in the second period.

Winchester finished with 71 receiving yards and 68 rushing for Unatego, which got a team-best 75 rushing yards on nine carries by Corbin Henry.

Dylan Moffit amassed a game-high 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries for the Bobcats, who also got a 15-yard TD run from Pedro Aparicio (126 yards on 17 carries).

Unatego hosts Delhi at 7 p.m. next Friday.

Owego 42, Oneonta 14

Skylar Thompson broke free for a 66-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but Oneonta High fell to 0-4 this season with a Division III road loss in the Section Four Football Conference.

Mat Robinson followed Thompson’s big run with the first of his two extra points as the Yellowjackets tied the score at 7 with 4:01 left in the opening quarter.

Owego scored the next 13 points before Noah Sheehan caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Jake Crotser 6 seconds into the second quarter. Robinson kicked the extra point to pull Oneonta to 20-14.

The Indians took a 28-14 lead into halftime, then outscored Oneonta, 14-0, in the second half.

The Yellowjackets, who are 0-3 in Division III, host their homecoming game against Ithaca at 3 p.m. Oct. 5.
