Spartans top B-G, 35-20, in football

Worcester plays Morris in the championship game of the Chic Walshe Tournament at Davenport at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Windham 2, Downsville 1

Natalie Vining scored the final goal with 3:14 left in the second of two mandatory overtime periods as Windham earned a Delaware League victory on the road.

Vining’s goal came off a double-assist from Mattie Seamans and Brianna Jaeger. Seamans opened the scoring with 17:27 gone in the first half, lifting a 20-yard into the upper corner.

Kaileen Townsend tied it for Downsville on a rebound goal with 3:38 left in the first half.

Jane Rion made 11 saves for the Warriors (3-3, 2-3), who play Hunter-Tannersville in the title game of the H-T Tournament at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Downsville (5-2, 1-2) hosts Jefferson on Monday.

Milford 4, G-MU 0

Addy Lawson had a goal and an assist as visiting Milford won in the Tri-Valley League on Thursday.

Emilie Mertz, Hannah Saggese and Kaley Chase also scored for the Wildcats, who got a combined shutout from Rukiye Henderson (three saves) and Monica Renwick (one save).

SWIMMING

Oneonta 109.5, SV 70.5

Madison Beckemeyer and Lucy Bischoff won two events apiece, leading a swimming sweep for host Oneonta High in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference.

Beckemeyer touched first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:20.27) and the 500 free (6:18.14) for the Yellowjackets, who received wins from Bischoff in the 50 free (27.47) and the 100 backstroke (1:11.13).

Madison Allen (200 individual medley, 2:36.66); Sarah Brackett (100 butterfly, 1:14.36); Abby M. Miller (100 free, 1:04.00); and Claire Garfield (100 breaststroke, 1:22.31) also won for OHS, which swept the three relays.

Oneonta (5-1, 4-1), which did not compete in the diving event, visits Owego on Thursday, then hosts Cooperstown for Senior Night on Oct. 7.

VOLLEYBALL

Oneonta 3, CF 0

Brittney Herrick finished with 13 kills and two blocks to lead visiting Oneonta to a 25-3, 25-17, 25-15 sweep of Chenango Forks in the Souther Tier Athletic Conference.
