Laurens, Morris split
Host Laurens earned an 8-7 victory in the first game and Morris won, 9-7, in the second game of a Tri-Valley League doubleheader.
In the first game, Laurens scored the winning run in the seventh inning.
Winning pitcher Jessica Hadlock singled to lead off. She advanced to second on Shalyn Tilley’s walk and scored on single to center by Claire Fraser.
Fraser finished 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs. Hadlock, Tilley and Katie Dobler had two hits apiece for the Leopards. Dobler, a freshman, played in her first organized game.
McKenna Hungerford had three hits for Morris, which got two hits apiece from Kaylyn Oliver and Liana Garry.
Winning pitcher Garry hit a grand slam to center in the second inning of Morris’ victory in the second game. The Mustangs (1-1) scored five times in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.
Haley Wist and Oliver had two hits apiece.
Kayla Johnson doubled and tripled, and Tilley and Fraser also had two hits for Laurens (1-1), which will host Hancock at 11 a.m. Saturday.
LM 17, Downsville 1
Visiting Downsville was no-hit in its non-league opener, which was shortened to five innings because of the 15-run rule.
The Eagles scored in the fifth, when Kim Dusseldorp walked, stole second, went to third on a passed ball and came home on Tiffany Leone’s groundout.
Downsville hosts Hunter-Tannersville today.

Malcolm Seamans, Joe Pelham, Eddie Moran, Luke Rasmussen and David Saunders earned singles victories as host Windham improved to 3-0 with a Delaware League win.
The Warriors will travel to Roxbury on Wednesday.
Roxbury 5, Andes 2
Josh Riley’s 9-3 victory at first singles paced Roxbury in a Delaware League victory at home Wednesday.
Danny Ballard, Joe McAfee, Kajus Normantas and Tristan Mulder also won singles matches for the Rockets.
