Kyle Jordan, Danny Rodriguez and Wright combined on the shutout. Jordan (2-1) worked the first first four innings, scattering four hits and two walks. He struck out two. Rodriguez allowed one hit over the next two innings and Wright struck out two batters in a 1-2-3 seventh.
Eastman took the loss in the second game, allowing five runs – four earned – on seven hits over four innings. He struck out one and walked four.
O-State (8-14) rallied for two runs in the seventh. Chris Orlando hit an RBI triple with one out that scored Cruz, who opened the inning with a single. Stamile then grounded out to second to score Orlando to make it 7-6, but Jon Halligan grounded out to end it.
Orlando and Halligan had two hits apiece for the Red Dragons, who will host Oswego State at 3 p.m. Friday.
WOMEN’S LACROSSEO-State 11, Potsdam 10
Catherine Clark scored four goals, and Nikki Fioretti, Casey Sarle and Nicole Boylan had two goals apiece to lead visiting Oneonta State to a SUNY Athletic Conference victory.
The Red Dragons (8-4, 3-1) trailed, 6-5, at halftime but scored five straight goals to start the second half.
Kiera McNally scored about a minute into the second half off an assist from Sarle to tie the score at 6. Boylan and Clark then scored 29 seconds apart, the latter giving O-State an 8-6 lead with 26:20 left. Boylan scored again three minutes later and Fioretti capped the spurt on a goal with 17:47 left as O-State took a 10-6 lead.
O-State still led, 11-7, when Clark scored with 12:01 left off an assist from McNally.
Potsdam (3-6, 0-3) rallied with three goals over the final 2:20, the last coming from Bailey Weigel with three seconds left.
The Red Dragons will travel to Fredonia at 1 p.m. Saturday.
