OHS baseball earns pair of one-run wins Saturday


B-G/A’s Katie Nolan also broke a meet record in the 800, crossing in 2:29.1.

Mary Rommer of Unatego and Betsy Holden of B-G/A were double-winners. Rommer placed first in the 1,200 in 3:58.2, just edging Nolan, who crossed in 3:58.6, and the 2,000 (7:15.3), and Holden won the shot put (30-7 ¾) and the discus (82-3).

Oneonta High received wins from Brittney Herrick in the high jump (5-0), Marly Davies in the 400 (1:05.2), Madison Allen in the triple jump (30-0 ½) and Eliana Fox in the pole vault (7-0). The Yellowjackets also received wins from their 400 and 1,600 relay teams.

On the boys side, B-G/A’s Pedro Aparicio placed first in the shot put (43-11) and the discus (114-0). Teammates Kyle Raymer and Jay Bame won the 200 (23.9) and 400 (53.4), respectively.

OHS received wins from Skylar Thompson (100, 11.7), Logan Mancuso (2,000, 6:10.7); and Mat Robinson (300 hurdles, 42.7).

Brett Humphries (800, 2:13.3) and Austin Ryan (110 hurdles, 17.1) earned wins for Unatego.

Red, White and Blue Invitational

Sidney eighth-grader Mallory Stillman and Gilbertsville-Mount Upton/Morris junior Christina Hawkins won events in the Red, White and Blue Invitational at Newark Valley.

Stillman crossed first in the 200 meters. She finished in 28.05 seconds. Stillman also finished second in the 100, crossing in 13.60.

Hawkins’ winning shot put traveled 31 feet, 3 inches. She placed second in the discus with a distance of 106-5.
