The Otsego Golf Club will host its Red, White & Blue Tournament at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Players in the two-person team scramble will alternate tees, from red to white to blue, over 18 holes.

Bass tourney set for Sunday

The Susquehanna Bass Association will host the Neptune Diner Open on Cayuga Lake on Sunday.

The club will fish a 10-tournament schedule. Anglers of the Year will be announced at the end of the season.

Soccer festival Sunday at Neahwa

The Play for Peace Foundation and Mr. Watson’s Capressos Coffee Lounge will host the first International Soccer Festival in Oneonta’s Neahwa Park on Sunday.

The festival is open to the public and will feature exhibition play, tournaments and games. Spectators will be admitted for free.

International professional players Alex Nimely (Manchester, England), Seiou Oliseh (CSKA Moscow), Ansu Toure (FC Vestsjaelland, Denmark), Solomon Grimes (Nea Salamina, Cyprus, Greece) and Doco Wesseh (Thunder Bay, Canada) are scheduled to appear and will be available for photos and autographs.

The festival will include a men’s over-18 mini-tournament ($199 per team), a co-ed under-18 mini-tournament ($199 per team), a ball juggling and freestyle contest ($25 per entrant), and a kids’ soccer clinic ($20 per child).

The event also will feature soccer volleyball, an under-12 showcase game and an exhibition game pitting the All-Star Tournament winner against the professional players.

Registration for the OYSA fall recreational soccer program has been extended to July 1.

Outlaws camps continue

The Oneonta Outlaws will host baseball camps for boys and girls ages 5-12 through July 18 at Damaschke Field.

Each four-day camp runs from 9 a.m.-noon Mondays through Thursdays. Campers will be grouped based on age and ability.

Cost is $70 per player and includes 12 hours of instruction from Outlaws coaches and players, as well as an official Oneonta Outlaws T-shirt. Cost for each additional family member is $60. Additional camps also cost $60 apiece.

The Outlaws also are offering birthday-party packages. Cost is $12 per child, with a minimum of 10 children required. Cost includes free game admission for each child and one parent, as well as food and drink for each child. The birthday child also will receive an Outlaws baseball cap and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Soccer official classes start July 17

Classes for those interested in officiating high school soccer games during the 2013 season begin at 6 p.m. July 17 at Oneonta State’s Morris Conference Center.

BASE Race set for Aug. 11

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown will host the second annual BASE Race on Aug. 11.

The event features a competitive 10-kilometer race at 8 a.m. and a family-style 5K run at 8:15 a.m. Both events start and finish at the CSC.

Registration is $25 for adults and $50 for families until race day, when registration will be $40 for individuals and $65 for families.

Proceeds support outreach for the “Be A Superior Example” program, which promotes the concepts of healthy lifestyle choices by educating students about the dangers of performance-enhancing substances.

The Midstate Arms Collectors and Shooters Club will host gun and knife shows from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the following dates.
