Twenty minutes into the half, Walcutt scored on a cross from Brandon Beauvis.
“It was almost the same exact play,” Roxbury coach Tom Faraci said. “This was a little more of a cross. Brandon flipped it to him. It wasn’t even a shot – more of a toe poke, nicely timed, really beautiful. Their goalie just didn’t have a chance at it.”
Will Rendler made seven saves for Roxbury (7-5, 4-4), which hosts Gilboa next Thursday.
Cooperstown 7, M-E 0
Liam Heneghan had two goals and two assists to lead visiting Cooperstown to an easy victory in Division III of the Center State Conference.
Reigning Daily Star Player of the Year Michael Rowley and Isaac Gomez scored two goals apiece for the Redskins (9-1, 5-0), who host Waterville on Wednesday.
Franklin 3, G-MU 1
Alex Brownell scored 15 seconds into Franklin’s Tri-Valley League victory at home.
Brownell dribbled to the left side of the 18-yard line and sent a low shot inside the far post for the early lead.
Franklin (4-7, 2-6) made it 2-0 with one second left in the first half, when Zack McNeilly converted a cross to the middle of the box from Gabe Latoraca.
Gilbertsville-Mount Upton’s Trevor Puerile and Brownell swapped goals in the second half.
The Purple Devils visit Edmeston on Tuesday.
Samantha Fanion placed first Wednesday to lead Cooperstown’s girls to victories over New York Mills and an incomplete team from Little Falls.
Fanion completed the 3.1-mile course in 21 minutes, 18 seconds. The Redskins also received top-five finishes from Abby LeCates (fourth, 23:39) and Francesca LoRusso (fifth, 23:52).
Jake Burnham paced Cooperstown’s boys, who also swept, with a second in 19:05. Michael Bennett of New York Mills won in 18:14.
Cooperstown 100, Adirondack 86
Eden Griger and younger sister Tessa won two events apiece to lead Cooperstown to a Frontier League victory at home.
Eden Griger took first in the 50-yard freestyle (27.97) and the 500 free (5:46.86). Tessa Griger won the 100 butterfly (1:09.58) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.32).
Tessa and Eden also swam the third and fourth legs, respectively, on the winning 200 medley relay (2:15.33) and the victorious 400 free relay (4:24.63).
Oneonta 3, Norwich 0
Brittney Herrick had 15 kills and Krissy Wells contributed 29 assists as Oneonta swept a Southern Tier Athletic Conference match on the road, 25-13, 25-10, 25-10.
Oneonta (8-2, 8-2) is at Susquehanna Valley on Tuesday.
