Unatego's Butler a First Team all-state selection

Beers, a Third Team all-state performer in 2011, rushed for 973 yards and 15 touchdowns for Walton, which went 4-5. A 6-1, 200-pounder, Beers was among the most physical players in the area.

Mazzarella led area players in rushing (1,372 yards) and touchdowns (18) in helping B-G to a 5-4 season.

Seniors McDonald and Walters led Sidney to a 6-3 season that ended with a 17-13 loss to Waverly in a Section Four Class C semifinal. Waverly went on to lose in overtime to Chenango Forks in the sectional final and Forks _ a 31-30 winner over Sidney during the regular season _ lost in the state semifinals.

McDonald made the Second Team as a defensive back and Walters earned a spot as a Third Team running back.

McDonald, a 5-11, 215-pounder, rushed for a team-best 869 yards and scored nine touchdowns. Walters, a bruising fullback and linebacker at 5-11 and 225, had 320 yards on the ground.

Dean, a 6-5, 260-pound two-way lineman, often led the way for McDonald and Walters.

Homann, a 5-10, 180-pounder, earned honorable mention status as a linebacker. He did plenty on offense for the Storm, too. His 16 touchdowns ranked second in the area behind Mazzarella. He also finished with 584 rushing yards, 410 receiving yards and 98 passing yards.
