Umpires to hold meeting Sunday

Local chapters of the Schohanna Board of Baseball/Softball Umpires will hold their first business meeting of the season at 10 a.m. Sunday in Lecture Hall 1 of Oneonta State’s IRC Building.

Anyone interested in becoming an umpire for the upcoming high school/summer seasons should attend.

O-State softball to host dinner

Oneonta State’s softball team will host its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. Feb. 2 at the 6th Ward Athletic Club in Oneonta.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from players or the coaching staff for $8 each. Tickets cost $10 the day of the event. Children ages 5 and under eat free. The event also includes raffles and a small silent auction.

The fundraiser will support the team’s trip to Florida in March.

Hartwick to hold indoor soccer camp

Hartwick College will host its Jr. Hawks Winter Indoor Soccer Camp from Feb. 18-21 at the college.

The camp is for children ages 6-12 and runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. Cost is $80.

Gun shows start Feb. 10

The Midstate Arms Collectors and Shooters Club will host gun and knife shows from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the following dates.

Feb. 10: Sidney Gun Show at Elk’s Club on River Street ($2 admission)

March 3: Oneonta Gun Show at Holiday Inn ($2 admission)

Aug. 11: Unadilla Gun Show and Flea Market at Unadilla Rod & Gun Club (free admission)

Oct. 13: Lisle Gun Show at Lise Fire Co. ($3 admission)

Nov. 3: Oneonta Gun Show at Holiday Inn ($2 admission)

Table reservations cost $15 and must be paid by cash in advance.
