SK girls on top of Mountain


All four of Dower’s free throws came in the final period, a 14-10 quarter in favor of the Yellowjackets that featured a three-pointer from Minnie Webster and a driving layup by Kelsey Baker.

OHS, which opened the season with a home victory over Troy (11-4), plays a Southern Tier Athletic Conference game Friday at Chenango Forks.

Unatego 54, Deposit 20

Casey Manzanero had 15 points and Michaela Reynolds contributed 11 to lead visiting Unatego to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory in its regular-season finale Saturday.

The Spartans (13-3, 10-1) took a 29-9 lead into halftime after outscoring Deposit, 17-3, in the second quarter.

Unatego is the No. 2 seed for the MAC 1-4 Tournament and will host a semifinal against third-seeded Harpursville on Thursday, when top-seeded Unadilla Valley hosts No. 4 Bainbridge-Guilford. Harpursville has won the last four MAC titles.

Roxbury 44, Andes 27

Allyce McIntosh had 16 points and Kennedy Faraci contributed 12 to lead visiting Roxbury to a Delaware League victory Friday.

Shianne Coss had 12 points and Jade Litaker finished with 14 rebounds for Andes, which will host Windham on Monday.

Jefferson 52, Downsville 43

Elissa Starheim’s triple-double offset Kaileen Townsend’s game-high 24 points as host Downsville (6-6) won in the Delaware League on Friday.

Starheim finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 14 blocks for the J-Hawks.


Cooperstown 39, Sauquoit 37

Ethan Bliss scored 10 points, including two three-pointers, to lead host Cooperstown to a Center State Conference victory at home Saturday.

Park Summers contributed nine points for the Redskins, who earned the victory with a 15-7 advantage in the fourth quarter.

The Redskins host Morrisville-Eaton tonight.


Syracuse Invitational

Cooperstown junior Aaron Idelson broke a school record on the 1-meter board Saturday during the Syracuse Diving Invitational at Nottingham High.

Idelson completed 11 dives with a score of 317.55, beating the Redskins record of 309.95 set by Gregg Lot in 2000. Idelson competed against Class A and B athletes and placed ninth in the field of 17.
