Devils win,keep pace in division


UV 61, Delhi 44

Justin Hofer’s 24 points helped host Unadilla Valley advance in the in the opening round of the MAC 5-8 Tournament.

UV started the game with a 24-point first quarter, opening an early 11-point margin on Delhi. David Dufresne scored 10 and Nate Shackelton had seven points in the quarter.

Dufresne finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, and five steals for the Storm (9-8), who will host Bainbridge-Guilford in the final Wednesday.

Ben Denison’s 10 points paced Delhi, which visits Walton on Wednesday for the consolation.

Edmeston 49, G-MU 33

Edmeston’s Brandon Fallon scored 20 points in a Tri-Valley League victory on the road.

After a low-scoring first quarter which ended with Gilbertsville-Mount Upton (0-15, 0-11) leading, 5-4, Edmeston outscored the Raiders, 18-9, in the second quarter. Fallon led the rally with 12 points in the period.

G-MU is scheduled to host Franklin on Friday. Edmeston hosts Laurens today.

Milford 37, CV-S 26

Peyton Griffiths scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Milford, which won a Tri-Valley League game at home.

The Wildcats’ offense sputtered in the first half, scoring only six points, but Griffiths led a second-half rally. He scored eight of Milford’s 10 third-quarter points, en route to 17 in the half.

Milford (11-3, 10-1) is scheduled to play at Richfield Springs on Friday.

Laurens 56, Franklin 41

Mitchell Barra scored a game-high 26 points as visiting Laurens won in the Tri-Valley League.

Ryan Holmes contributed 13 points for the Leopards, who took a 22-12 lead into halftime.

Derek Beers hit four three-pointers en route to 16 points for Franklin (2-11, 1-11), which is at Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Friday.

RS 52, Schenevus 24

Joe Kelly scored half of his game-high 16 points during a 21-1 first-quarter run that lifted visiting Richfield Springs in the Tri-Valley League.

Lucas VanRiper and Keegan Wheelock-Tanner contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively, for the Indians, who will oppose Milford in a key East Division game Friday.
