Hartwick to send six swimmers to NCAAs

Hartwick named senior attack Harry Hughes and junior driver Katie Ermakova its Hawks of the Week on Monday.

Hughes had eight goals and an assist in a 1-1 week for the men’s lacrosse team, which beat Oneonta State, 12-10, and lost to Potsdam, 14-5.

Ermakova amassed a team-best seven goals in two Saturday wins for the water polo team. She scored twice in a 14-5 defeat of Connecticut College and followed with five goals in a 21-8 rout of Brown University.

SUNY Cobleskill

SUNY Cobleskill selected junior Namib Harris as its Fighting Tiger Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Harris highlighted the Cobleskill men’s performances at Virginia Commonwealth’s Ram Invite by meeting the New York State College Track Conference Championships automatic qualifying standard in the triple jump, placing seventh at 42 feet, 4 inches.

He also met the conference’s provisional qualifying mark in the 800-meter run, placing ninth in 2 minutes, 1.89 seconds.
