Franklin girls give Laing 200th victory


Kerrin O’Shaughnessy made 20 saves for Worcester (1-3), which will play at Laurens on Wednesday.

Tayler Nichols and Mackenzie Talbot scored two goals apiece to lead Gilbertsville-Mount Upton to a Tri-Valley League win at home.

Nichols started the scoring off an assist with 29:51 left in the first half. She also scored in the second half on a corner kick from Talbot, who scored twice after halftime.

Katie Schultes made 13 saves in the shutout for the Raiders (4-2, 2-2).

Vanessa Miller stopped 16 shots for the Indians.

CV-S 2, Edmeston 0

Lauren Loucks scored two goals to lead visiting Cherry Valley-Springfield to a Tri-Valley League victory.

Loucks penetrated the box and scored her first from close range at the 31-minute mark. She got her second on a 12-yard shot with five minutes left in the first half. Jordan Loucks assisted on the goal.

Catherine Johnson and Dana Eschler finished with four saves apiece for the Panthers (1-5, 1-4), who are at Milford on Wednesday.

Schenevus 1, Laurens 0

Sierra Bentley scored the decisive goal seven minutes into the Tri-Valley League game as Schenevus won at home.

Sarah Mellor dribbled along the left side before crossing to Bentley, who finished from 15 yards.

Courtney Sherry amassed a game-high 19 saves for Laurens.

Schenevus (2-2) plays at Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Wednesday.

SK 5, Margaretville 0

Freshman Lexi Dubois scored 7:27 before halftime and visiting South Kortright scored four more goals in the second half to win in the Delaware League.

Dubois stole a clearing attempt before scoring from 18 yards.

Fellow freshman Brianna Laing made it 2-0 with 34:12 left in the second half off an assist from Kaitlyn Stinson. Laing and Stinson finished with a goal and an assist apiece, and Tori Rockefeller and Shianne Coss also scored for the Rams (5-1).

Margaretville (0-2) will host Jefferson today.

Gilboa 1, Roxbury 0

Taylor Mattice set up Kim Gockel’s goal nine minutes into the second half of Gilboa’s Delaware League victory at home.
