Punt, Pass & Kick is today

The City of Oneonta's local NFL Punt, Pass and Kick qualifier will run from 5-7 p.m. today at Ted Christman Field in Neahwa Park, rain or shine.

There is no cost to participate. Youths ages 6-15 are eligible to compete. One boy and one girl in each of five age-groups will qualify to advance to sectionals, which will be held Oct. 20 at Damaschke Field in Oneonta and include local qualifiers from the Southern Tier.

Sectional winners may qualify for the Buffalo Bills Team Championship at Ralph Wilson Stadium on Nov. 3.

Registrations will be accepted on the day of the event or in advance at the recreation office in Neahwa Park. A valid birth certificate must be presented at the time of registration. Registration forms must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. Forms are available at the recreation office and online at www.oneonta.ny.us/recreation.

OCC to host scramble Saturday

The Oneonta Country Club will host a three-man scramble at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The 18-hole, three-person captain-and-crew event will have a shotgun start and cost $120 per team. Teams may enter an optional cash skins game for $30 per team.

The scramble will feature gross scoring only (no handicap). Cash payouts will be awarded.

Golf tournament set for Saturday

Colonial Ridge Golf in Laurens will host the Clair Jacobsen Memorial Captain and Crew Golf Tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The tournament, which will begin with a shotgun start, features four-person teams. Cost is $30 per player and includes prize money (gross only), skins and pins. The event will have a 100-percent cash payout, with $1,000 for first place (based on 32 teams).
