Hartwick men edged by Vermont; O-State cruises

Tucker Lewis stopped eight shots for the Fighting Tigers (0-8, 0-5), who host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Cobleskill lost a NEAC game to visiting Penn State Abington, 6-0. PS Abington improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the NEAC.

Delhi 3, Corning 0

Peter Fabrykiewicz had a goal and an assist to lead SUNY Delhi to a road victory Sunday.

Trevor Holdridge opened the scoring off a pass from Oudou Kalla 13:54 into the game, and Fabrykiewicz made it 2-0 with an unassisted goal a little more than six minutes later.

Dimitri Beauchamp capped the scoring with a chip shot past Corning goalie Riley Kepner-Card (seven saves) off a back pass from Fabrykiewicz in the 51st minute.

Brandon Rivera made five saves in the shutout for the Broncos (3-4, 3-2 Region III), who visit North Country Community College this Saturday.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

O-State 4, Oswego 1

Oneonta State scored three times in the second half for a SUNYAC victory at home.

Melissa Guglielmo scored in the second minute off a pass across the 18-yard line from Kayla Ceschini, touching the ball to her right and beating Oswego goalie Alyssa Glasshagel with a shot to the back post.

Georgia Traynor set up the tying goal in the fifth minute for the Lakers (6-3, 1-1), sending a direct kick into the box for Nikki Liadka, who beat Oneonta goalie Rori Stark (one save) with a header.

Karly DeSimone, Amanda Regensburger and Guglielmo scored in the second half for the Red Dragons (4-3-1, 1-0-1), who visit Geneseo on Friday.

Nazareth 2, Hartwick 1

Olivia Derleth and Elisa Marchione scored in the second half as visiting Nazareth rallied to win an Empire 8 Conference game.

Defender Mary Morrison earned her first college goal 4:12 into the game, heading in a corner kick from Kylie Thayer for Hartwick’s first goal against the Golden Flyers since 2004.

Hartwick (3-3-3, 0-2-1) maintained the lead for more than 56 minutes, but Derleth turned a corner kick from Julia Teran Pulford into the equalizer for Nazareth (5-2-2, 2-0).
