Anglers win tight tourney
Frank Microni and Steve Llewellyn earned the top finish Sunday during the Susquehanna Bass Association’s Cooperstown Bass Guides Tournament on Otsego Lake.
Microni and Llewellyn filled the five-fish limit with a winning weight of 13.37 pounds, edging Mike Barse and Vic VanSteenburg for the best total by .40 pounds.
Allan Green, who caught the big smallmouth of the day, and Peter Green placed third at 12.92 pounds. Allan Green’s 18.5-inch smallmouth accounted for 3.39 pounds.
Kyle Patrick’s solo effort of 11.78 pounds rounded out the top four.
Steve Kochis caught the big fish of the day, a 20.5-inch largemouth weighing 5.80 pounds.
The SBA will host the Steve Gruver CPA Open from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 20 on Goodyear Lake. The event will serve as the last points tournament for Anglers of the Year.

Hall to host World Series Gala
The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown will host its annual World Series Gala on Oct. 26.
The gala centers on a live broadcast of Game 3 of the 109th World Series in the Hall’s Grandstand Theater and offers refreshments, trivia, raffles and prizes.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26, with Game 3 at the home field of the National League champions expected to begin at 8 p.m.
Tickets are required and cost $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Museum members may reserve tickets today. Remaining tickets, if any, will be available to the general public Oct. 21 by calling the membership department at 607-547-0397.
