Hawks earn 4-2 field hockey win at Union

For the season, Seney has 22 tackles, including six for losses. He has five sacks and three forced fumbles. Seney leads the E8 in sacks and forced fumbles.

Munarriz saved his college high of 13 shots Saturday as Hartwick shocked ninth-ranked Akron, 2-0, on the road in a Mid-American Conference game on the road.

Munarriz earned MAC Player of the Week honors Monday and Tuesday, he was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

Munarriz made four saves in the first half and one of his nine second-half saves came on a penalty kick.

Hartwick’s win over the Zips was their first since 1973, snapping an 11-game winless skid. The Hawks also sent Akron to its first conference loss since 2007.

The Hawks (3-5-2, 1-0) will host West Virginia at 7 p.m. Friday.

Cobleskill athlete of the week

SUNY Cobleskill named junior volleyball player Kady Porterfield its athlete of the week.

Porterfield averaged 2.25 kills and 0.70 blocks during 21 sets this past week in helping the Fighting Tigers win three out of five matches.

Porterfield earns the honor for the second time this season.
