VOLLEYBALL

Herrick, Wells all-state

Oneonta High’s Brittney Herrick and Krissy Wells earned Class C all-state honors for the fall volleyball season, Yellowjackets coach Lee Ferrara announced Friday.

Division-I bound Herrick, a senior middle hitter who will play for Siena next season, made the Second Team. Classmate Wells made all-state for the first time with a fourth-team selection.

Herrick’s third straight all-state honor — she was a fourth-teamer the past two seasons in Class B — followed a season in which she set all-time program records for kills (585) and blocks (165). Former teammate Kelsey Baker graduated this past June with the previous records of 371 kills and 134 blocks.
